St Helena Island

Cat-o-Nine-Tails Cruises offer daily tours from Manly to St Helena Island National Park for a historical day tour with lunch or a ghost tour of the prison at night including dinner. St Helena Island is Queensland’s most historic island and is located four kilometres from the mouth of the Brisbane River and for more than 60 years was home to hundreds of society’s outcasts, as it was colonial Queensland’s foremost maximum security prison for men.

Stradbroke Island

Humpback whales migrate north past the island May – July and come back travelling south with babies Aug – Oct.  You may also see turtles, dolphins and rays.  The best place to view is at Point Lookout.

There are lovely beaches, walks around the headlands and cafes, hotels & shops.

Book early for a good fare! Brisbane is well serviced by international airlines. If you want to bring your rig then Singapore airlines could be a good option as they have a 30kg luggage allowance in economy and will take sporting equipment.
